Shihan Javier Diaz Piscil is a master martial artist and the visionary founder of Club "Naha" Karate-Do. With over five decades of martial arts dedication spanning Mexico and the United States, Shihan Javier has played a pivotal role in preserving, sharing, and expanding the art of traditional Shudokan Karate.

Martial Arts Roots & Foundation
Shihan Javier began his karate journey in the 1970s in Mexico, training directly under Angel Marquez Lopez (founder of Toyama Karate-Do) and Sensei Angel Romero Arriaga. Through rigorous dedication, he earned his Black Belt in 1978.

Inspired to share his passion and create a community dedicated to self-improvement, respect, and traditional values, Shihan Javier realized his dream on February 6, 1982, when he founded Club De Karate-Do "NAHA" in Iguala, Mexico—a name deeply rooted in Okinawa, the birthplace of karate.

Throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, Shihan Javier made key visits to Maine, introducing traditional Shudokan Karate to students and instructors, including Head Instructor Shihan Craig Sargent. His teachings transformed the dojo's curriculum and inspired the continuation of the Club Naha name in the United States.

Expanding to the United States
In 1986, while living in the United States, Shihan Javier met Shihan Ken Walsh at the New Rochelle Boys and Girls Club. Their partnership led to the establishment of a Club Naha Karate-Do program within the club, laying the groundwork for the school's growth in America.

Legacy & Leadership
An 8th Degree Black Belt, Shihan Javier has trained generations of practitioners, including his children—Renshi Fernando Diaz, Sensei Erika Diaz, Sensei Osiris Diaz, and Sensei Javier Diaz Jr.—and top instructors who continue his lineage today. He remains a central figure in the global Club Naha family, connecting martial artists across borders through tradition, discipline, and mutual respect.
